Established in 2015, the Castle in Transylvania program recognized the need to support the sustainable socio-economic development of Transylvanian castles and manors. This program focused on local and regional strategies to secure resources for restoring and revitalizing these historic sites while also building a network of experts and a supportive community. The program emphasizes preventive interventions to preserve these sites and enable their long-term revitalization.
For Holis School 2016, we collaborated with the Castle in Transylvania program to host a summer school at the historic Rákóczi-Bánffy Castle. Participants were tasked with reimagining the purpose and envisioning future scenarios for the 15th-century Rákóczi-Bánffy Castle, offering innovative perspectives for its reconstruction and sustainable use.
